Leading marine transport and logistics company, Legend Yacht Transport, becomes official partner for the 2023 race season.
Powerboat P1, the international marine motorsport promoter, has announced a new sponsorship that sees Legend Yacht Transport become the Official Logistics Provider of the UIM Class 1 World Championship for the 2023 season.
Bringing together leading professionals from the yacht transport industry, Legend Yacht Transport was set up in November 2021 to provide customized logistics and manage the international transport of motorboats, sailboats, raceboats, superyachts and megayachts, and commercial vessels. Based in Florida, the company understands that racing events are high pressure and time sensitive, and its seasoned team of industry professionals are experienced with meeting the particular needs of race teams all over the world.
Legend President and Owner Dave Holley explained, “We are delighted to be appointed as the Official Logistics Provider to the Class 1 series. Announcing the new strategic partnership at Powerboat P1’s race headquarters in Florida, P1 CEO Azam Rangoonwala said, “We partnered with Dave some ten years ago, so we are very much aware of his knowledge and experience of powerboat racing and his love of the sport. It’s gratifying that he has chosen to sponsor the UIM Class 1 championship and we look forward to growing together on our journey to take Class 1 back to the pinnacle of offshore racing.”
The 2023 Class 1 race calendar sees the series heading to Wisconsin for the first time, when Sheboygan hosts the Mercury Racing Midwest Challenge in August, and returning to favorite locations in Florida and Indiana. An international fleet of eight boats — with teams representing Australia, Sweden, Norway and, of course, the United States — will compete in the six-venue championship from May through to September.
